Purple Words December 30, 2014January 28, 2015 the tapestry became more complex and beautiful as sun’s light arched higher and higher … continued … … returning to school i had them walk in silence … to ponder their own individual thoughts and sensations … ….. later, with pencils, brown school paper and their visions i watched them silently write … ….. their words formed beautiful uncut gems some the color of rubies or emeralds … others vibrated with sound, were simple with quiet emotion or restless … anxious to please listing every impression … ! ….. one piece stood out from the rest … written in purple ink by the shiest girl in class her ten line poem captured the essence of the entire journey … ….. at the end of the day i looked back on our journey with a clarity of thought never experienced before … ….. later that night … while having dinner with my Dad … i was told several people in town had seen me walking … my students quietly trailing behind … ….. a couple of people said i reminded them of the pied piper … Share this:TwitterLinkedInRedditPocketPinterestPrintEmailMoreFacebookLike this:Like Loading...
